We took a little weekend trip to Bozeman a couple weeks ago. We were so excited to go to the pumpkin patch - something Helena just doesn't have - we had a great time. We did the maze, played on the hay bails, ate some yummy cinnamon almonds, did a hay ride - Gavin actually drove the tractor on our ride. We also spent some time at Museum off the Rockies. Gav loved the dinosaurs, pioneer area, and he and Sage had a great time playing in the kids play area. We did a quick hike in the snow to Palisade Falls - it was a beautiful waterfall - it was worth the hike in the snow. The kids loved swimming at the hotel and we got to catch up with our friend Travis.
Teenan and Eva came up for a quick visit. They had a blast playing with the kiddos and the kids loved playing with them! We are so blessed that they have been able to come up a few times this last year - its so fun having them here! Brian and Teenan did a day hunt - a fun father-son bonding day. Brian has been able to get out a few more times on day hunts. Hunting here is so different than in CO. People mostly just go out for the day and everyone hunts - I should probably start:) . Bri hasn't had any luck yet, but he still has lots of time!!
Halloween this year was really fun! Gavin dressed up as a "fighter fighter". Sage as a spider. The cutest happiest spider you ever saw - if only they really looked like that. Gavin was all about it and Sage loves anything her brother likes. So she just followed suit! They scored with candy therefore so did Bri and I:) Shay and Brett (Brian's co-worker) had a little party the week before where they had a pinata, pumpkin carving, and chili dogs. We told Gavin we were going to eat chili dogs and he said "what, we don't eat dogs" - so cute. Also Shannon and Bert (another friends from Brian's office) had a Halloween party. They live in an old historic mansion in Helena and their party was awesome - they had pinatas, costume contest, kids shooting range, bobbing for apples... all things kids love. I also took the kiddos trick or treating with a couple of girlfriends on Last Change Gulch (the walking mall) for Little Tykes Trick or Treating - it was so fun because it was the middle of the day which meant only little kids Trink or Treating (no big bullies). We went to a church trunk or treated and ended the day at the Governors mansion who handed out full size candy bars (saying "vote for me"...j/k). We ended the day just as one would expect with a healthy dinner option of some delicious pizza.
Last but not least....Helena throws this event a couple times a year called the Mama Rave. Mama Rave is exactly what it sounds like, a night for us moms to get out and get our dance on. My girlfriends Allie and Shay invited me to go with their group of friends. We went out to dinner, danced and had some great girl time. It was so much for to get dressed up and dance. And for those of you who know me, I actually did dance and kind of loved it!!
